Elounda Island Villas

Unique Location

Elounda Island Villas is the only one building on the island of Elounda! It is actually the peninsula of Spinalonga, which was separated from the rest of Elounda by the French colonials in order to allow boats pass through from Mirambello bay to the gulf of Elounda. On this peninsula Elounda Island Villas stands all by its own and there won't ever be more, given the strict planning laws which came into force after it was finished in the 1970's.

On the island itself, a path from the end of the dirt road leads in 10 minutes to Kolokytha Bay, which has the most transparent and turquoise waters in the area. There's also plenty of good snorkelling around the area. Cross the bridge and within 10 minutes you reach Elounda village, with its sandy beaches and enticing tavernas perched along the sea's edge. In season, there's enough nightlife to keep teenagers (or adults) amused for a few days. You can arrange boat excursions along the coast, or catch a day-cruise to the rocky island of Spinalonga, with its Venetian fortifications and macabre history as a leper colony. Watersports are also available in Elounda.
