“Fantastic honeymoon!” | Feb 2016 | UK

We returned here for our honeymoon and we have never returned to a holiday destination, however much we enjoyed it, which speak volumes about this spot of beauty and its owners. This time we had villa number 10 (I think), an apartment with different levels and a big rooftop balcony with sun loungers, a table and chairs. The view from the balcony never tires; you see the see, mountains and Elounda. Stunning! We were out snorkelling in the sea on most days on the beaches around the islet. On other days we explored the beauty of the island in different ways. This part of the island is full of historic sites and Minoan churches and ruins. If you wish to rest you can, if you wish to be more active, there are a plentiful of opportunities to hike, see gorges, caves, cycle, hire a moped…. the locals are very friendly and welcoming. If you are thinking of planning a trip to this part of the island, I can recommend reading ‘The Island’, written by Victoria Hislop.
